Hamfest India 2015

     The much awaited biggest India’s Ham gathering “Hamfest 2015” is fast approaching. Year long waiting is going to be ended on 28th of this month when the Ham fest commences. It is a two day event going to be conducted on 28th and 29th of this month in the premises of “Atmiya College”, Kalawad road, Rajkot-360005, Gujrat.

    So far, about 556 delegates have been registered their names  for this event. This time the event is going to be unique since it is to be conducted under the able leader ship of Dr. S.K. Nanda IAS, and Mr. E. Radhakrishna IPS both are designated as Chairman and convener, respectively for this Hamfest and both of them are serving in  key posts in the Gujarat State Government.

The below mentioned are some of the attractions of the event.

 Ham Radio Demonstration SRR& CVR Government College 


On the invitation of the SRR& CVR Government College administration, Machavaram, Vijayawada, City Ham Radio training center conducted successfully seminar on Ham Radio in the college conference hall in between 11-00AM to 1-00PM on 30-10-15. This session was conducted in the college with a view to create awareness of Ham Radio among all the Science students. 

Mr. Rambabu Lecturer who took the initiative to conduct this seminar welcomed the chief guest and dignitaries to the dais.

A lecture cum Power point presentation on the uses of Ham Radio was provided by A. Ramesh Babu, coordinator, Ham Radio training Center, Vijayawada. Detailed talk on this activity along with “live Ham Radio Demo” helped the students to understand better how this Ham Radio is beneficial as a personnel Hobby and how it is used as a disastrous communication devise during Natural calamities. All the Science students and faculty took part in this activity.

A. Ramesh Babu Coordinator, Ham Radio training Center told that the Ham members of Vijayawada procured Very High Frequency Repeater equipment with all the accessors and kept ready which is to be installed on the hill top of Gunadala at a height of 700 feet from the ground level. This arrangement enables all the Ham’s of entire capital area of Andhra Pradesh free communication facility with low cost wacky talky handheld sets and their services can be of great help at the time of upcoming “Krishna Pushkaralu and in Natural calamities.

T. Nageswara Rao English lecturer of the same college is an active Ham member continuing for the last 20 years in this hobby explained the students and other participants how to operate the Ham Radio set.

D.V.S Bhaskara Prasad Hod, physics department and K. Srivnivasa Rao, Dr. Ra. Kameswari, T.V. Rambabu, Md. Iqbal pasha, V. Uma Lakshimi, SK. Subani all are from Physics & Electronics Department along with other staff members took part in this program along with students.

Dr. V. Ravi, Principal of the college not only encouraged all the participant students to get Ham Radio license to serve the nation and he himself expressed his willingness to join in the training programme to be  a Ham Radio member.

Dr. R. Kameswari one of the senior faculty member thanked Ramesh Babu and his team for conducting seminar and exhorted all the students to make use of this opportunity to get train in his noble hobby.  Finally She proposed vote of thanks after the concluding the seminar. This programme created enthusiasm among all students and teaching staff members.

Ham Radio Awareness programme

Ham Radio Awareness programme in “Guntur Engineering College”

We are glad to share with you a brief report on Ham Radio Awareness programme which was conducted in Guntur Engineering College on 29/10/15. Sri D.Ramanna Professor & HOD of ECE took inactive and invited us to their college for conducting Ham Radio Awareness programme.


A lecture cum power point demonstration on ham radio was arranged which was attended by students & faculty members of the college. Ham Radio live demo was arranged which evoked enthusiasm among many of the students.  Different types of Ham Radio communication equipment not only caught fancy of many students but also created enthusiasm among many faculty members which includes the College Chairman Sree M. Nara harirao and the Principle Dr. Brahmaiah.
