We are happy to inform you that Ham Radio License
examination was conducted on 31-01-2018 at 12-00PM to 1-00PM in Potti Sri
Ramulu College of Engineering & Technology, Vijayawada. This Examination
was conducted by the official’s of Wireless monitoring station, Vijayawada.
Those who qualify in this examination are will receive Ham Radio communication
License from the Wireless Planning & coordination wing, Government of
India, New Delhi.
Col V. Ramulu, Secretary, A.P Social Welfare Residential Educational institutions Society who is instrumental in taking special interest in deputing 100 students from various schools of Andhra Pradesh, right from Srikakulam to Chittur Districts for undergoing Ham Radio training. 30 Students, From Vignan University 10 students from Grandhi Varalakshmi Venkata Rao Institute of Technology, Bimavaram, apart from this, 44 others also appeared for this examination. Applicants from other states also attended for this examination. Two from Telangana, two from Orissa and one from Karnataka appeared along with other candidates.
Total 174 candidates were trained among them 154 were attended. Probably this is the first time in India that a huge number of candidates have appeared for this examination in such a grand scale. With the increased number of candidates makes Vijayawada a Hub of ham radio operators in the State and their services could be utilized not only at the State level but also at the entire Nation level at the time of natural disasters by supplementing emergency communication network.
Our sincere thanks to Sree Chalavadi Malklikarjuna Rao, President of Potti Sriramulu College of Engineering & Technogly and Dr. K. Nageswara Rao, Principal for permitting us to utilizing their college premises as examination Centre. We are also thankful to Dr. M Ranga Rao, College Coordinator who himself a licensed Ham Radio made all the required arrangements for conducting this exam in a Hassle- free manner.
