World Amateur Radio Day

World Amateur Radio Day, 18TH April , 2015



We are glad to share with you a brief report on World Amateur Radio Day conducted on 18th April, 2015 by Academy of Ham Radio, Vijayawada in Mandava Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jaggaiahpet located at 80 km away from Vijayawada City of Krishna District in Andhra Pradesh. We are so much thankful to the Management and the Principal of Mandava Institute of Engineering and Technology for having provided us an opportunity to conduct World Amateur Radio programme where in an awareness and description on Ham Radio, how it is being used by millions of Radio Hams all over the World.

Radio Hams also have invented different Satellites (AMSAT, OSCAR etc.,) to enhance Global Communications.  Particularly it’s uses in Disasters as a second line of Communication to State & Central Governments. Latest Developments in Ham Radio resulted in increasing  Global communication network covering all over the world among Radio Amateurs through Eco link using simple Hand held transceivers which are  available at very cheaper rates in International Market. More than 300 candidates including Students and faculty members have participated.

Mr. Syam, Principal and Mr. B. Sudhakara Rao, Professor and HOD Electronics and communications Engineering and Members of other Faculties of Mandava Institute of Engineering and Technology have extended their fullest cooperation and made this programme a grand success. Most of the participants have come forward to become Radio Hams and to join in Ham Radio activities and they felt that their services could be used in a great way to State & Central Governments in providing Emergency Relief Communications during the times of Natural Disasters.

The Management of Academy of Ham radio is planning to conduct awareness programmes and sensitize more and more students and others to become Radio Hams.
